Humblebeads teal beads

My first blog hop - I joined a blog hop with a package from Humblebeads (blog here ) with some teal  'bare branches' polymer clay beads as the focus (a focal and some rondelles). Sari silk was a first for me. I decided to knot it to tame it a bit, and I put a bit of fray stop on the cut ends. It was the foundation for the bracelet.

I used some small Swarovski pearls to bring out bare branches white colour, and some lava rock beads to highlight the branch color. The other beads were chosen from the bead package from Heather. My first ever crimping adventure is the strings with the Humblebeads beads. I also added a fine etched chain from Fallen Angel Brass with a sparkly bead from the package of beads. I didn't want too much sparkle, but just that one seemed right.

The clasp was part of a giveaway that I won from an Australian artist named, Jenni of Jenni's Beads (blog here. Isn't it so fabulous! I actually made the bracelet to wear the clasp at the side and the focal on top, so you can see both.

Well, here is my endeavor to use the teal bare branches Humblebead beads. I like the varying thickness of the 3 strings of the bracelet, and the 3 colors of teal, white and black. Here are some pictures trying out my brand new light softbox - well it was new out of the box, but had been sitting in the boxes for a few months while I got up the courage to try to set it up).

Thanks for the chance for me to get brave to try a blog hop, Heather. It was fun.
I am looking forward to seeing the creations from the other participants, see them on Heather's blog, here.

  3. Love the sari wrapped around the beads. This would be a fun bracelet with a long flowing skirt or jeans. Yes blog hops are fun and always challenging. This was a bit easier for me because I loved the colors and the beads right from the start.

  6. Thank you all for the kind words. So many new things to try. The colour is one of my favourites, so it made it easy. I was a bit apprehensive before I received the package (due to the time it takes me to design as a newbie; and the fact that we had out of town visitors). However, once I opened the package, it provided lots of inspiration. Thanks again Heather.

  7. Miss Andrea, it is really a lovely piece. And welcome to the world of blog hops (I am going to plug that I am hosting one that I do in November each year. Come on over and sign up!) I think this has that wonderful bundled up feeling that I love about fall. It looks like a cozy bracelet to wear. And I do so love Miss Jenni and that clasp is perfect! Enjoy the day. Erin

  11. Andrea, your bracelet is beautiful. I love the complexity of the three strands and the depth of color it gives the bracelet. Jenni's clasp is wonderful . Heather's beads
work so well with the copper and Sari Silk. You have a wonderful sense of design and the ability to put together a complex piece that makes all the parts shine. Great first Hop.
